Holiday cottages in Alt Empordà region

We stayed in this lovely house over a long weekend and everything was perfect. The house is very pretty, in good condition and with all the useful amenities (very well equipped kitchen, sheets, towels...). The exteriors are beautiful and very relaxing. Both parents and children enjoyed it, we will surely come back! Little extra: the proximity to the border is really convenient.

We have spent a few days with the family, the house was very clean, everything perfect in the house: rooms, beds. The super attentive owner explained to us what we could see in the village. The surroundings of the house are ideal, the ideal village with many services, we recommend going to see the turtle recovery center in the same village, ideal for visiting with children, and we have made trips to Cadaqués, Figueres, it has been great.

We had a really lovely stay at this house and would definitely rate it around an 8 to 8.5 overall. The location is absolutely beautiful. It feels quite secluded and peaceful, yet there is still a lively village only about 5–10 minutes away. That balance between privacy and accessibility was perfect for us. The house is also located very close to the coast — roughly a 200-meter walk — and from there you can access a coastal walking path with stunning views along the shoreline. There are several small pebble beaches nearby which were great for children and, most importantly, not overcrowded. If you are looking for a calm and relaxing place away from mass tourism, this is a fantastic area. One of the highlights of the house is definitely the swimming pool. The pool is covered, heated, and uses salt water, which is wonderful for people with sensitive skin. The covered pool also makes it possible to swim even when the weather is not ideal, and we really appreciated that during a few colder or rainy days. The house also offers nice extra activities such as golf and table tennis, which added a lot of fun to our stay. There are, however, a few things that could be improved. The outdoor sunbeds are quite worn out and really need replacing. We used them during the first few days, but afterward they were simply not comfortable anymore. The kitchen equipment could also use an upgrade, and overall the house would benefit from a bit more maintenance. We also noticed some unpleasant smell issues coming from the laundry/bathroom area. That said, we genuinely enjoyed our stay very much. The amazing location, peaceful atmosphere, and pool experience made it a memorable holiday for us.

We spent a weekend at the Portal de Cantallops with the family. The stay was very good. The house is very nice, it has a very good layout, the garden with pool and porch is ideal for resting and spending time, just like the indoor environments. There is a lot of calm and there is no feeling that there are neighbors. The village is also very beautiful and the surroundings offer many activity possibilities, such as mountain hikes and wine tastings.

We have been very good, as always. The only but is the cushions of the beds, most are very crushed. And the recycling issue, as far as containers and papers. The house and facilities are perfect, for our needs! We hope to return next year.

Regarding recycling, next to the entrance door of the farm, outside, there are waste and glass containers. For the rest of the waste, the closest containers to Mas Verdaguer are located in the town of Bàscara. Thanks again for your comments and we hope to see you again next year.

We found some small ants in the dining room between the table legs and the wall that separates the living room. Nothing important, but we fumigated them with a product that was in the kitchen.
