Holiday cottages in Mollet de Peralada

We had a wonderful stay at this charming holiday home! The location is absolutely perfect – right in a lively and picturesque little village, full of atmosphere and character. The house itself was spotless on arrival and fully equipped with everything we needed for a comfortable holiday. The pool may be on the smaller side, but it was very well maintained and always inviting for a refreshing dip. There’s limited space around it for sun loungers, but we found plenty of other cozy spots to relax. One of our favourite features was the covered terrace – a blissful retreat during the warm afternoons – and the upstairs terrace with its beautiful view, where we loved enjoying our breakfast each morning. Overall, a fantastic place for a relaxing and memorable holiday. We would gladly return!

The availability and kindness of the owner, Gemma, is much appreciated, as well as the information about local services. The leisure equipment makes the stay ideal for children of different ages.

The only thing we didn't like about the stay was the amount of flies there were, not only outside but inside the house. At times it became really very annoying, both for the kids and adults, to live with so many flies.

After periods of rain it is common for their presence to increase in rural areas, and to prevent them from entering we recommend keeping windows and doors closed as much as possible. We also provide sprays and electric fly swatters for guests in the house. We appreciate your comments, which help us to keep improving.

The house is fine, very clean and everything well arranged. The house is large, there is enough space, various living rooms and dining rooms, all very spacious. The owners are very friendly. However, facing the summer, the fact of having the pool and the barbecue area in a different building becomes very uncomfortable, especially when it comes to eating, you have to continually go to fetch things from the kitchen which is on the 1st floor of the other building. Perhaps, as a suggestion, a refrigerator and a cabinet with dishes could be placed in that area. On the other hand, we found the dishes very scarce, not so much in plates but in bowls, for example, there are some big ones but for appetizers, none. There aren't many glasses either... On the other hand, they should do a general review: some showers do not work well, there were leaks in the dining room, it would be good to leave some candles or lights for when the power goes off... In summary, we have been fine but I believe improving little things would make it perfect!

Regarding the tableware, we have a set of 30 services with plates and glasses for every meal, as well as 2 or 3 bowls of each size (large, medium and small). We believe this is enough if the dishwasher is used, but we will review everything to ensure that there are enough. Regarding the pool area, we left plates, glasses, etc., of picnic/disposable type for convenience. About the showers and leaks, we were not aware of this, so we appreciate you letting us know. During our stay in early July 2025, we were able to enjoy all facets of this house. The house is very clean, everything you need is available, the garden, terrace and pool are cleaned every 2 to 3 days by a very attentive friendly man (owner?). Since I am familiar with Spanish, communication was good, but I don't know if he speaks another language. Towels were replaced weekly. The location is good, in Perelada (3 km) you can find everything you need. The only downside, if the summers continue as they are, is the temperature in the rooms is too warm and a fan is not sufficient. The nights are not cooling off anymore. Only this could deter us from booking again. A cooling on the upper floor would do wonders.

The house is very beautiful and comfortable, with a spacious and very bright living room, and since it’s in the village, it's very easy to walk to buy something or go out to eat. And the garden—huge and very well maintained. That said, I think a few details were missing to make the stay perfect, such as having more than one crib or high chair available, or providing more toilet paper rolls (there were only 2 in each bathroom—something very easy to provide), or napkins; there was also no soap in the shower, nor oil, sugar or salt. Perhaps most importantly, the Wi-Fi didn’t work well during most of our stay, and most of us didn’t have mobile internet coverage either. Lastly, the rooms are not well soundproofed. For most people it won’t be an issue, but for us, traveling with babies, it was inconvenient. Still, the house is great and we really enjoyed our stay.
