If you're staying in a holiday cottage in Pontós, you can't miss the ruins of the castle, which are scattered on a hill near the village. It is also worth seeing the hermitage of Santa Anna, from the 16th and 17th centuries and the church of Sant Martí de Pontós , an 18th century building that contains traces of an earlier building from the 11th, 12th and 13th centuries. As well as the church of Sant Mer and Sant Celdoni , located in Romanyà d'Empordà and the Àngel tower, a 19th century building that was used as a telegraph tower. And from which you will have amazing views of the Empordà and the Plan de l'Estany. Finally, it is worth seeing the archaeological site of Mas Castellà, a large field of silos where finds have been made from the 6th century BC to the 2nd century BC.

If you feel like going for a walk or a nice bike ride, you can go to the neighborhood of Romanyà d'Empordà, which is part of Pontós and where you will find some farmhouses scattered in a place of forests and dry fields. A good way to discover the typical agricultural landscape of the Empordà. If you prefer activities in the middle of nature, you can go as far as the Salines-Bassegoda. And, if what you want is to discover the capital of the Alt Empordà, just over 20 minutes away you have Figueres, where you can visit the Dalí Theatre-Museum or the Sant Ferran Castle, among others.
