Astride the Serra de Rodes and the Estanys natural area, we find the town of Palau-saverdera. A place full of points of tourist interest, especially for lovers of nature and active tourism.
The various megalithic monuments, such as the dolmens of Mas Bofill, La Devesa, Muntanya d'en Caselles, Sureda I and Febrosa, and the remains of a Neolithic Iberian settlement, show that Palau-saverdera was populated since prehistory. In addition, on the border of the municipality with Pau, traces of settlement from the Roman era have been detected. The town, however, is not mentioned until the year 974 in a bull of Pope Benedict VI in which he specifies the boundaries of the territory of the monastery of Sant Pere de Rodes .
If you're staying in a holiday cottage in Palau-saverdera, you can't miss the Rellotge tower, an old defense tower that was built to protect the first castle in Palau and which has the Vilamarí castle next to it, from the centuries XIV and XV. The Romanesque church of Sant Joan is also worth visiting, as well as Plaça del Mirador, also called Balcó de l'Empordà . A tribute to the 21 inhabitants who died during the Spanish Civil War. From here you can enjoy all that is the Empordà landscape: the plain, with the marshes in the foreground; the coast and the beaches of the Gulf of Roses, and the mountain of Cap de Creus.
You can also choose to get closer to the Estanys area, within the Aiguamolls de l'Empordà Natural Park, from where you can make magnificent excursions on foot or by bike, or go into the Serra de Rodes, which it is part of the Cap de Creus Natural Park. From here you can practice a lot of routes on foot or with BTT. Finally, it is interesting to visit the Neolithic village of Ca n'Isach, which has been recovered and can be visited.

Cadaqués is much more than a village to bathe on the beach. The beaches of Cadaqués are very rocky, but near the worldwide known picturesque village we find the bay of Portlligat with the island that lies ahead and of which Salvador Dalí was its best known inhabitant. There you will discover the Dali Museum house, where he lived, surrounded by forests and vegetation, a good starting point if you want to access some beautiful beaches around like Cala Sabolla (before the lighthouse Cala Nans). It is not difficult to access and is ideal for rest and relaxation. Here you can find one of the bests “chiringuitos” of Costa Brava.Login to Naturaki
