In the north of the Costa Brava, between Llançà and Portbou, we find the small town of Colera. A municipality of beaches where we can carry out a lot of water sports, pleasant walking routes and discover its megalithic tombs. It is also one of the northernmost coastal towns in the country, witness to the contact between the Pyrenees and the Mediterranean.
The first document in which the town of Colera appears is from 935. The toponym possibly comes from the Latin collis , which means 'hill', 'hill'. The old town began to be built when the pirate danger, which for a long time threatened the Catalan coast, disappeared in the middle of the 18th century. From 1885 to 1934, Colera was part of Portbou.
If you stay in a holiday cottage in Colera, you can make several excursions on foot or by bike, such as the one that goes to the Molinars , a castle in ruins that had a water mill from the 17th century, the one in the area of the Rovelada, from where you will have spectacular views. You can also choose to discover the megalithic tombs, dolmens and menhirs in the area or climb Cape Ras , located on the dividing line between Llançà and Colera.
Colera has some spectacular beaches, such as Garbet, Cala Rovellada or Platja del Carbassó, with transparent waters and coarse sand, ideal for snorkeling. If water sports are your thing, Colera's beaches are great for windsurfing, water skiing and scuba diving. And, if what you want is to stroll through the town, you can't miss the Romanesque church of Sant Miquel de Colera, from the 12th-13th centuries, the town's old parish.

Cadaqués is much more than a village to bathe on the beach. The beaches of Cadaqués are very rocky, but near the worldwide known picturesque village we find the bay of Portlligat with the island that lies ahead and of which Salvador Dalí was its best known inhabitant. There you will discover the Dali Museum house, where he lived, surrounded by forests and vegetation, a good starting point if you want to access some beautiful beaches around like Cala Sabolla (before the lighthouse Cala Nans). It is not difficult to access and is ideal for rest and relaxation. Here you can find one of the bests “chiringuitos” of Costa Brava.Login to Naturaki
