In the north of the Costa Brava, between Llançà and Portbou, we find the small town of Colera. A municipality of beaches where we can carry out a lot of water sports, pleasant walking routes and discover its megalithic tombs. It is also one of the northernmost coastal towns in the country, witness to the contact between the Pyrenees and the Mediterranean.

The history of Colera and its environment

The first document in which the town of Colera appears is from 935. The toponym possibly comes from the Latin collis , which means 'hill', 'hill'. The old town began to be built when the pirate danger, which for a long time threatened the Catalan coast, disappeared in the middle of the 18th century. From 1885 to 1934, Colera was part of Portbou.

And, if what you want is to stroll through the town, you can't miss the Romanesque church of Sant Miquel de Colera, from the 12th-13th centuries, the town's old parish.
