It wasn't until 1857 that Ossinyà, Fares, Juïnyà, La Miana, El Torn and Sant Ferriol joined together and formed a single municipality that was called, curiously, Parish of Besalú until 1930, since they all depended ecclesiastically on the parish of Besalú.
