The origins of the municipality are linked to Argimon Castle in the 11th century. During the War of the Reapers it was looted and the church burned. It dates from the end of the 12th century and has a large rectangular portal. On the outskirts of the town is the church of Sant Martí de l'Esparra which dates from the 12th century. Close by are the remains of a medieval tower. Be sure to visit the sanctuary of Our Lady of Argimon. It dates from the 17th century and is built on the remains of an old castle. From its location on top of a hill, you can enjoy magnificent views of the region.
