Holiday cottages in Puigpelat

Remains of Roman settlements such as villas and tombs have been found throughout the territory of Puigpelat. However, the first written reference to the term does not appear until the year 1184. During part of its history it was under the rule of the order of Saint John of the Hospital of Jerusalem.

Popular festivals are deeply rooted among the inhabitants of Puigpelat. One of the best known is the Feast of Our Lady of the Milk, where many activities are held around the Puigpelat pine tree.

Throughout the municipality you will find buildings of great architectural value that are in a very good state of conservation. One of the best known buildings is the church of Santa Maria. It dates from the end of the 18th century and its style is neoclassical. Another outstanding element of the old medieval structure of Puigpelat is its portal, which served to communicate the exterior with the old town.

Puigpelat is surrounded by paths that pass through the agricultural fields of the term. Having a very flat orography, its level of difficulty is very low, so you can take advantage and go on excursions with the whole family. One of the most well-known routes is the GR-172 that reaches Tarragona.
