Holiday cottages in Montferri

Until 1917 the name of the town was Puigtinyós. Subsequently, it went on to take the name of Montferri. The vineyard is one of its main economic activities. You can visit one of its wineries, which are family-run and are dedicated to the production of cava.

Popular traditions are deeply rooted among the population of Montferri. The major festival dedicated to Saint Bartholomew and the festival dedicated to Saint Sebastian are events that offer activities for both adults and rogues. A gathering is also organized in the sanctuary of Our Lady of Montferri.

The works to build the sanctuary of Our Lady of Montferri began in 1925 and lasted seventy-three years. Its design is the work of the architect Josep Maria Jujol, Gaudí's disciple. The building has a texture that is very similar to the rounded shapes of the rocks of the Montserrat mountain. One of the most prominent elements of the sanctuary is its central spire which is 27 meters high.

In its origins, this building was a defense bastion. However, throughout its history it has been in the hands of several owners, so its functions have also undergone changes. Its architecture is very solid and is of Romanesque style.
