In 1860 Calella de Palafrugell had a movement of 727 tons of goods. Thirty-five years later, in 1894, the number dropped to 2.5 tons, and in 1912 only 0.3 entered. Today, Calella de Palafrugell has become what it is thanks to its historical charm, but it is still alive, in large part, thanks to tourism.
