Arenys d'Empordà is a small town that is part of Garrigàs, a municipality in Alt Empordà located twenty minutes from Figueres. It is a small town with barely 100 inhabitants and, even so, it has a few must-sees such as the medieval castle and the modernist Casa Francès tower. It is a building essentially from the 16th-17th centuries built on top of the medieval fortified palace which, during the Middle Ages, belonged to the Lords of Palol, also lords of Vilopriu Castle. You also can't miss the modernist tower Casa Francès, from 1877, where the writer José Francés and the dancer Àurea de Sarrà lived and died.
