The history of Vila-rodona goes back to the Neolithic period. Throughout the territory of the town, archaeological remains and human settlements have been found. If you visit the Cova Gran you can see a burial site from the Bronze Age. One of the other best-known elements of the town is the Pou de la Neu. It was built in 1800 and its function was to collect the snow that came from the mountains in order to supply the inhabitants of the town with water.
In the cooperative cellar of Vila-rodona you can taste some of the wines with DO Tarragona that are made with grapes grown in the fields of the town. Its building is modernist style and dates from 1919.
This museum is located in the old convent of the Carmelite nuns. Its function is to promote the ethnological and archaeological culture of the municipality. In its facilities you can see remains of Iberian and Roman sites. In addition, it shows how agricultural life and its trades have evolved.
The columbarium was a space that in Roman times was used to store the ashes of the deceased. The one in Vila-Rodona was built in the 2nd century AD and is declared a Cultural Property of Local Interest. One of the main features of this building is that it is decorated with arches, which makes it unique in the world.
