Holiday cottages in Fortià

We spent a fantastic weekend (2 nights) in La Balma. The house and its layout are perfect, all rooms have a bathroom and the size of the common areas and exteriors is very large. I loved the gas stove with 5 burners and the spectacularly sized oven, although in the end we didn't use it. But not everything has been excellent. I would like to explain why I have given only 3 stars for cleanliness and maintenance. The house is very good, but the appliances lack maintenance. The refrigerator door does not have any bucket for drinks, etc., so everything has to go inside, and it is very small. Even so, the worst thing is the dishwasher since, when you put the dishwasher tablet, it doesn't close and you have to leave it loose. I don't know if that's the reason, but the dishes are dirty and when we took them out, we had to wash everything by hand. We no longer used the dishwasher, it was time to wash... 8 people having breakfast, lunch and dinner, plus various snacks and drinks, is quite a lot of job. I reported this upon departure and they told me that they would take it into account... but I just read an opinion from 6 months ago where this problem was already warned, with the same response and the problem remains unresolved. The cleaning we found in the kitchen utensils, glasses and cups was average. The rest of the cleaning is very good. Although the games room has excess dust, it is not only because of the stone walls and it is irremediable. By the way, the game room is fantastic! In fact, us, who are very gamers and our intention was to live together and not go on excursions, arrived with organized tournaments because they already put the games they have on the website, although we missed the badminton net, and the soccer goals, but we got along fine without them. On the other hand, you have to grease the foosball bars, some of them are so hard that they brake... and you can't play billiards because all the balls accumulate together. We leveled it with things we found there, it is not very difficult. We unbalanced it to leave the house with everything in its place, just as we found it. My favorite outdoor area is the terrace on the first floor, with access from the kitchen, the living room and one of the bedrooms. It is where the grill is, very well preserved and with a good size. We used it one of the days and it is perfect. Although it says that there is 1 bag of charcoal and a pack of ignition pills, we already knew that one bag was not enough for 1 barbecue for 8 people, and there were no ignition pills. Thank goodness we were proactive and also brought another bag and pills. There we left what we had left over so that the following can use it. And some more barbecue utensils would be appreciated (there are only some tongs and a poker to move the embers), as well as some to clean it because there is nothing. Once again, we were proactive and we took it ourselves, but that's not what it's about. There should be. The location is good and you can get there very directly without having to travel kilometers on regional roads. The town is very quiet, they don't even have a store, something we already knew beforehand. In a pinch, 500 m away there is a gas station with shops that have lots of things, and right next door, a bar-restaurant-agri-food store with some local products. The deal with Emilia has been very good. On Saturday after 10:00 p.m., we found ourselves without hot water, we called her and she solved the problem. The quality-price rate is good. Would we repeat? If they really fix the dishwasher, yes.

In reference to the dishwasher, after the first notice it was fixed, now we have changed it so that it does not happen again and we will do the same with the fridge. The house is fantastic to be with family and friends. It has everything to enjoy and rest. The attention from the owners has been a 10. The town is small and very quiet. If you need something you have to go by car, but we already knew that before going. In the surroundings you have places to visit.

The small negative differences compared to our previous stay derive from the difficulty of immediately correcting inevitable but correctable wear and tear. Cheer up Jordi!

We have been super good and very comfortable, it has everything and for everyone, big and small.

Maybe we are very demanding, but after being in many houses of this type, for us it is the best for the spaces it has, but it does not reach excellence for small details, which in our view are easy to solve, such as: having mosquito nets in all rooms, good shade in the pool area, curtains or blinds to prevent the sun from entering the house and a clothesline with conditions for hanging the clothes from the pool or washing machine.

Regarding the shade of the pool, comment that we have put sun umbrellas at the request of a customer, and we ask that when it is windy, they close to avoid problems. As for the clothesline, there were 2 of them and they broke. That's why we put a fixed one.
