Constantí has a long history. In fact, it was already there in Roman times. A sample of this past is the vila de Centcelles. Unfortunately, during the War of the Reapers part of its historical heritage such as the castle or the parish church were destroyed.
Nowadays, apart from seeing its Roman heritage, you can also enjoy the many cultural activities and celebrations that take place throughout the year.
Declared a World Heritage Site by Unesco in 2000,
la vila romana de Centcelles is one of the best-known historical monuments in the Tarragonès region. The oldest remains date from the second century BC. In its beginnings, this town was dedicated to agricultural exploitation. Subsequently, it was reformed and the residential sector gained weight.
In the historic center of Constantí
you can visit l'Església de Sant Feliu, which dates from the 17th century and also the remains of the old medieval wall. A tower is still preserved today.
The agricultural sector is of great importance in the economy of Constantí. This is clearly seen in the Multisectoral Fair that is held in the last quarter of the year. Major holidays are also of great importance in the municipality. The summer one is celebrated on August 1st and the winter one on January 20th.
Gastronomy is another of Constantí strong points. Do not miss tasting some of its most emblematic products such as hazelnuts, virgin olive oil or wine.
