El Morell is a municipality with a long history. Located to the right of the Francolí river, remains of an ancient Roman road have been found that connected the cities of Tarraco and Ilerda. All this makes the presence of historical monuments one of the main tourist attractions of the municipality. You can also take advantage and walk along the many paths that surround the town.

At the end of the 12th century, the first El Morell castle was built. Its location guaranteed the defense of the houses that surrounded it. Over time, the castle was degraded until in 1769 it was decided to demolish it. It was in 1778 when the construction of a new castle was commissioned. However, its physiognomy is very different from the classic medieval castle. In fact, its current appearance is that of a house with three balconies and a facade that stands out for its screen prints.

The church dedicated to Sant Martí is another place worth visiting. It is a baroque construction that has only one nave. Its facade has a floral decoration that is not found on the other walls.

El Morell belongs to the Francolí river basin. This has made it a land suitable for agricultural exploitation. Some of the land's own products are peaches and hazelnuts. One of the best-known hiking routes is tEl Morell-La Masó-El Rourell-Vilallonga-El Morell route. It has a distance of 15 kilometers and passes through flat terrain, so it is suitable for children. Some of the places you will be able to see are the Francolí river and the fields of hazelnut cultivation.
