The history of Ulldemolins goes back to prehistoric times, due to the fact that remains of villages have been found throughout its territory. It was also under Saracen rule. With the reconquest, it passed into the hands of the county of Prades and the Carthusian monastery of Escaladei.

Agriculture is one of the main economic activities of the municipality. The olive groves, vineyards and almond groves stand out. Wines and oils are also produced. There are several oenological routes that allow you to visit the wineries of Ulldemolins and see what the entire wine and oil manufacturing process looks like. Gastronomy is also very relevant. Throughout the territory of Ulldemolins you will find hermitages of great historical interest. One of the most well-known is that of Sant Bartomeu de Fragerau. Its building has a single nave and is of Romanesque style. Another hermitage that you must visit is that of Santa Magdalena. Its style is Renaissance and it has a crypt that is excavated in the rock.

Ulldemolins has great natural wealth. The Serra del Montsant natural park is one of its main centers of interest. From the center of the town there are several hiking routes that pass through areas of great beauty such as the Fragerau gorge or the Pi de la Carrabasseta. Within the park there are also areas enabled for the practice of climbing or speleology.
