The history of Siurana goes back to prehistory. This is thanks to the fact that remains of flint instruments have been found in its territory. In the past, it was one of the last bastions of Arab domination in Catalunya. If you walk through the town center you will be able to see medieval buildings that are in a perfect state of conservation.

Siurana is surrounded by mountains, so you can take advantage of your stay to go on nature trips on foot or by bike with the family. Throughout the municipality you will find marked paths and hiking routes that will allow you to see natural landscapes of great beauty.

The remains of the Arab castle are still preserved in Siurana. It is a military building that dates from the 9th century and had the function of barring the way to the center of the town. One of the most popular spaces in this building is the Prison, a room that is covered by a ashlar vault.

Siurana has a historical heritage of great value. There are guided and dramatized tours that allow you to discover what life was like for the ancient inhabitants. One of the best known buildings is the church of Santa Maria. It was built at the end of the 12th century and is in Romanesque style.
