The first written documents that refer to Cornudella del Montsant are from the year 1190. However, its etymology indicates that its origins are Roman. One of the most important architectural elements of the town is the parish church of Santa Maria. It is a building that was built during the Catalan Renaissance by Pere Blai.

On the other hand, the natural surroundings of Cornudella de Montsant offer you the possibility of doing various outdoor activities. You have numerous signposted hiking routes that pass through towns such as Alcarca or Siurana.

On the outskirts of the municipality you have several hermitages that are in a good state of conservation. One of the best known is that of the Mare de Déu de Montsant, which is very close to Alcarca. Located at more than a thousand meters, it offers magnificent views of the entire valley. The hermitage of Sant Joan del Codolar dates from the 12th century and is one of the most revered by the inhabitants of the town.

The culture of wine is deeply rooted in Cornudella del Montsant. At the town's Cooperative Cellar you can see what the whole wine-making process looks like. Its building was designed by Cèsar Martinell in 1922 and has a modernist style.
The Peris-Aragonès Museum maintains its original structure. In its beginnings it was owned by the monks of Escaladei. Inside its facilities you can see a display of objects from all over the world.
