The origin of the municipality goes back to the time of the reconquest , like most of the towns in the territory. In this case, it was Arnau Mir de Pallars , who received as a reward, for helping to recover the lands that were in the hands of the Saracens, a fortification located on the road that leads to Albesa, which was named Torre Pallaresa . Torre-serona was built and grew around the fortification.

A curious fact is that Torre-serona is one of the few municipalities that did not fall into the hands of the church until well into the Middle Ages.

The Parish Church of Our Lady of the Assumption was burned down during the Civil War and has therefore been rebuilt. In fact, in the semi-circular arcade, you can see a shield with a fleur de lis, which links it to Lleida.

If you walk around the village, you will discover that some of the oldest manor houses are preserved on Carrer Major , especially Cal Gabàs , at number 21, which still has its porches. Another house of an important family in Torre-serona is that of the Olzinelles .

Another characteristic element of the town is " lo Calvari ", a medieval work included in the Inventory of the Architectural Heritage of Catalonia . These are archaeological remains located about 300 meters from the center. Apparently, its structure may be related to the exploitation of wine, a crop exterminated by the phylloxera in the 18th century. They would, therefore, be a group of silos dug into the rock and a base of a village cross , which was moved into the village.
