The history of L'Armentera and its surroundings
L'Armentera, which etymologically means 'land of large herds' , is mentioned for the first time in a document in 822, under the name of Armentaria. During the War of Succession, it was occupied by the French troops of the Duke of Noailles. Later, it was attacked by the forces of Philip V and, a century later, in 1839, a battle of the first Carline War took place there. One hundred years later, during the Spanish Civil War, it was occupied by Franco's troops.

If you like cultural tourism and feel like walking around a bit, you can't miss the church of Sant Martí de l'Armentera, a neoclassical building from the 19th century that preserves several paintings by Joan B. Panyó, precursor of the School d'Olot, the most prominent Catalan landscape school. The Armentera mill, a very well-preserved 18th century building, is also worth visiting.
Stroll through the Aiguamolls de l'Empordà
L'Armentera is located on the alluvial plain at the mouth of the Fluvià river, a fantastic area for family walks and hiking. In addition, it is very close to the Aiguamolls de l'Empordà and, therefore, you can take advantage of your stay in a holiday cottage in L'Armentera to visit the popular Marjalen area. Ideal house for family and relax
The house is very well prepared. The pool and the garden are the favorite part of the little ones. And the location is perfect for visiting towns on the Costa Brava.

Tranquility and absolute disconnection
We have enjoyed the house and its facilities and I have to say that I think it is the house with more kitchenware and accessories than I have used on my vacation, nothing is missing, there are plenty of towels, pool towels, cleaning products and kitchen basics. I really recommend it, and I have to say that the owner is very friendly and accessible.

VERY GOOD EXPERIENCE, BUT WITH SMALL IMPROVEMENTS IT COULD BE EXCEPTIONAL!
Maybe we are very demanding, but after being in many houses of this type, for us it is the best for the spaces it has, but it does not reach excellence for small details, which in our view are easy to solve, such as: having mosquito nets in all rooms, good shade in the pool area, curtains or blinds to prevent the sun from entering the house and a clothesline with conditions for hanging the clothes from the pool or washing machine.

Regarding the shade of the pool, comment that we have put sun umbrellas at the request of a customer, and we ask that when it is windy, they close to avoid problems. As for the clothesline, there were 2 of them and they broke. That's why we put a fixed one. La Blauet en Ventalló: a great choice for a holiday in the Alt Empordà region
A magnificent house with all the necessary comforts to spend holidays with family and friends (we were 6 adults and 6 children) in a rural environment but well connected, between 15min and 45min from all the beaches and towns that are worth a visit. The hosts are always attentive and ready for any question. 100% recommended!
