Updated May 2023.
On the Costa Brava we have some of the most beautiful beaches in the world, but only 9 of them allow dogs, legally. Today we show you the best ones so you can enjoy the company of your dogs in these wonderful beaches on the Costa Brava!
Rubina Beach (Empuriabrava)

Between Empuriabrava and Roses. It is a very large family beach that has all the amenities of a big beach and where you can find one of the best “chiringuitos” of Costa Brava.
L'Estartit Beach - Els Griells (L'Estartit)

In the Molino area, between Els Griells and La Platera. A space of 600 m2, without limited timetable, where your pets can run and play around freely in the sea water.
Rec del Molí Beach (L'Escala)

The first beach in the area of the promenade that goes to Sant Martí d'Empúries and just 5 minutes walking from the center of L'Escala. Half of the beach allows access to dogs.
Sant Jordi Beach (Llançà)

A pretty large beach, 50 meters long by 10 meters wide, with fine sand, with a very clean seabed that combines the sand with some rocks on the surface, where you will enjoy a good time with your dog! Keep in mind that it is a beach facing north-east, so it is advisable to avoid the days of Tramuntana.
Les Barques Beach (Colera)

Is the central beach of the village, about 130m long where you will find everything you need for a summer day: restaurants, terraces and bars, water activities, etc. A part is enabled to allow dogs, you will see the directions.
La Ribera's Beach (Port de la Selva)

In one part of the beach, access with dogs has been enabled – from the entrance to the village, where there is the parking lot to your left (coming from Llançà) and to the stream. The two green signals will guide you!
Port de la Vall Beach (Port de la Selva)

Located a couple of km before reaching the village of Port de la Selva, you will find this beautiful beach and in one part access with dogs is allowed. The segment is delimited by green signals.
Cala del Niu (Sant Feliu de Guíxols)

Incorporated as a dog-friendly beach in 2021, it is one of the most recent developments. Between Cala Maset and Cala del Cranc, near Sant Pol beach. Small in size, only a maximum of five dogs are allowed.
Pere Grau Beach (Palamós)

Pere Grau beach is located between the lighthouse and the fishing port of Palamós (Baix Empordà). The beach is 15 meters long and 12 meters wide. This beach has been able to go with dogs all year round since 2021. Outside the bathing season, you can also go with your dog to the Platja Gran of Palamós.
However, beaches are natural spaces open to everybody and in the Costa Brava we have some very quiet virgin beaches where it is common to see dogs, although there's always the risk of being fined.
These are just some of the many beautiful and virgin beaches where you can enjoy the company of your dog while you are in the Costa Brava. Would you like to discover them?
