What can you do in Sant Martí d'Albars and its holiday cottages?

Livestock activity has been very important in the municipality. In the old days, there was a group of shearers who were responsible for shearing the wool of the sheep before the flock went up to the pastures of the Pyrenees. Around the town there are signposted routes that allow you to discover natural places of singular beauty.

Visit the Medieval bridge

In the southeast part of Sant Martí d'Albars is the Medieval Bridge. This construction is about 25 meters long and is crossed by the Gavarresa stream. Its passage is 1.80 meters wide and is made of cobbled pavement. On the other hand, as a result of the passage of carriages there are wear marks. This bridge connected Sant Miquel d'Albars with Perafita and served as a passageway for the transport of ash from the coal mines.

Stroll through the historic center

Sant Martí d'Albars is structured in three parts. On one side you have Beulaigua and la Blava which were born in the 18th century. On the other hand, you have Sant Martí, which dates back to the 10th century and is where the historic center is located. Walking around its streets you can see the parish church which is of baroque-neoclassical style. The Camí de la Cendra passes very close to the historic center. This route came from Vic and headed west.
