An ideal rural setting for relaxation. This is Sant Andreu Salou, a village in Gironès located near the region of La Selva and about fifteen kilometers south of Girona. An ideal destination for those looking to disconnect from the hustle and bustle of the city.
The origins of Sant Andreu Salou go back to Roman times, as evidenced by the archaeological remains found in the area, including some Roman villas and objects from the time. During the Middle Ages, Sant Andreu Salou was known as Sant Andreu de Sabayá. It was part of the county of Girona and was under the jurisdiction of the diocese of Girona.
If you spend a few days in a holiday cottage in Sant Andreu Salou, it's worth walking around the town and visiting the church to begin with. An 18th century temple located on a small rise from which you will have good views of the area. Don't forget your camera! The bell tower, which dates from the 19th century, has a square tower and four windows with a horseshoe arch. Within the village you will also find some scattered farmhouses that are worth seeing. All of this turns Sant Andreu Salou into a bucolic town where the tranquility of the rural world reigns. An ideal place to disconnect during the weekend.
The town of Sant Andreu Salou offers several possibilities for excursions on foot or by bicycle and, above all, to enjoy a peaceful natural environment. A town with a lot of charm that has managed to maintain its roots and its rural identity over time.
