What can you do in La Figuera and its Holiday cottages?

In its beginnings, Figuera was under Arab domination. In 1148 it was conquered by Ramon Berenguer IV. Later, it passed into the hands of the episcopal barony of Cabacés. If you walk through the historic center you will find narrow and steep streets. One of the most emblematic buildings in the town is the parish church of Sant Martí. Dating from the 18th century, it has three naves and an attached bell tower.

Throughout the municipality of La Figuera there are many wineries that are affiliated to the DO Montsant. You can take the opportunity to take an oenological route and see what the whole process of winemaking is like. Along the way you will also come across farms that produce DO Siurana oil.

Visit la Figuera observatory

The Figuera observatory was used by the republican army during the Battle of the Ebro. This is due to the fact that it was a strategic point due to the fact that you can see up to forty kilometers of the Ebro River. Currently, this historic space is in a good state of conservation.

The natural environment surrounding La Figuera combines mountain ranges, valleys and ravines. In this way it is perfect for the practice of adventure sports such as paragliding, climbing or caving. On the other hand, you also have numerous hiking routes. One of the most well-known is the one that goes up to the Solana pass. This place is known as the Balcó del Priorat, due to the fact that you can see the surrounding towns and the Montsant river.
