Christmas ice rinks in Tarragona
Ice skating with friends or kids is one of the best plans this Christmas. At Les Gavarres shopping center, close to Tarragona's city center, you'll find TarracoGel. This enormous 500 m² ice rink will be open from November 29th 2024 to January 7th 2025. It's an ideal plan for an afternoon full of laughter and some funny falls (don't forget your gloves!).
Tarragona's living nativity scenes
The province of Tarragona is home to some of the most beautiful live nativity scenes in Catalonia. If you've never visited one, now's the time! It's an ideal family activity. Our top recommendation is the live nativity scene in La Pobla de Montornès. It's a moving and narrated nativity scene guided by an old shepherd and lasting about 40 minutes. This year, don't miss the live nativity scene in L'Espluga de Francolí, which is held every two years and takes place on December 26, 27, and 28, 2024. This immersive experience takes you through the streets of ancient Judea amidst the remains of the town's two nuclei. Children will love it!

At Christmas, PortAventura is transformed into a magical paradise for all ages. If you're looking for a dose of fun and enchantment, the park offers spectacular holiday shows, breathtaking Christmas decorations, and an atmosphere that makes you feel like you're on a film set. Don't miss highlights like Christmas Parade, Bubble Magic Christmas, or Christmas Time, which feature music, dancing, and captivating stories for kids. You also won't want to miss La Posada dels Gnoms, a restaurant where you can dine with Santa's helpers.
Christmas concerts in Tarragona

Tarragona hosts holiday concerts in stunning venues like Tarragona Cathedral, where you can enjoy a Christmas repertoire by Jonathan Carbó on December 20 and a unique performance by Jordi Vergés on December 27. Another Christmas classic. If you want to enjoy a different take on Els Pastorets, we recommend the Els Pastorets de Tarragona, performed by La Golfa company. These are the city's most irreverent version, filled with humor and satire that revisit current events and iconic moments of the year, including local politics and international issues. For a more traditional version of Els Pastorets, head to Reus, Montblanc, or El Morell, among other towns.
