Where to Have Brunch in Girona?
If you like eggs benedict and pancakes, Bloody Marys and toast with salmon and avocado, we invite you to discover and enjoy the suggestions we have prepared!
Federal Café

Want to read the New York Times while sipping a matcha latte with oat milk and eating an açaí bowl or a pancake with banana, mascarpone, maple syrup, and hazelnut praline? Head over to Federal Café, on la Força Street, right in the heart of the Old Quarter. Federal Café is a café concept created by two Australians who wanted to bring some of the atmosphere, light, and freshness of Australia to Girona. In fact, the name comes from a small town located on the hill of Byron Bay, between Sydney and Brisbane. You'll find perfect options for an early breakfast, such as pancakes, yogurt or muesli, as well as various types of coffee and hot elixirs. They also have vegan options. A recommendation? The brioche with baba ganoush, roasted cauliflower, and ‘pico de gallo' with mango and cilantro. And for a drink, a green smoothie with apple, matcha, cucumber, celery, spinach, mint, and a touch of lime. Finger-licking good!
La Fábrica Girona

The arrival of La Fábrica, a venue created by professional cyclist Christian Meier and his wife Amber, revolutionized Girona and in ten years has become a must for many cyclists from the Girona region and especially the place to go if you want to be a hit on Instagram. Not only do they serve sensational coffee and sweets, but the venue, which was a former carpentry workshop, is filled with antiques that the couple has collected on various trips. Our recommendations: Park your bike in the parking area, sit on the terrace, and enjoy a good Pulled Pork bagel with avocado and organic egg along with an Orange Brew coffee. If you have a sweet tooth, they have an amazing assortment.
Shots Coffee & Brunch

If you are looking for Km0 ingredients, this is your place. At Shots Coffee & Brunch, you'll find a wide variety of dishes for breakfast, lunch, and, of course, a great brunch. Sweet or salty toasts, sandwiches, yogurt bowls, bagels, and pancakes (said to be the best in town!) accompanied by coffee, teas, natural juices, and smoothies. All with Km0 ingredients. They also offer gluten-free bread options for non-celiac intolerant people and plant-based drinks. The highlight, however, is the homemade sweets: cupcakes, sponge cakes, cookies… They vary daily. Our recommendation? The Glorious Pancakes, with banana, caramelized pecan nuts, mascarpone cheese, and agave syrup. And to drink, a chai latte.
Hotel Casa Cacao

Hotel Casa Cacao is a major highlight. Located in a building listed as of historical interest, the Boutique Hotel Casa Cacao from El Celler de Can Roca has 15 rooms and a spectacular terrace overlooking the Old Quarter of Girona. The brunch is designed for non-residents of the hotel and is available from Monday to Thursday between 12:45 and 13:30 h, and from Friday to Sunday in two shifts: at 12:45 and at 15 h. It is a fixed menu that changes and adapts according to seasonal products and is accompanied by a good selection of drinks. They cater to all kinds of diets and needs: from vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, etc. But that's not all! This spectacular brunch is always served on the terrace. So, you can enjoy a fantastic meal made by the Roca brothers and breathtaking views. An experience to live at least once in a lifetime.
Bali Coffee & Brunch

Can you imagine Lotus cookie pancakes? You can stop imagining and head to Bali Coffee & Brunch, a café open from 8 am to 10 pm where you can find options for breakfast, enjoy a great brunch, lunch, and even do an after work. They have everything. From coffees, juices, sweet and savory toasts, bagels, pokes, açaís, cold cuts and cheese boards or salads. You will also find vegan options, both for drinks and food. If you want to know what we recommend, grab a notebook and pen: The Banana toast, with peanut butter, and cinnamon is irresistible. If you prefer salty, opt for the Green Iberic Bagel with avocado, Iberian ham, lamb's lettuce, and Philadelphia cheese. To drink, we encourage you to try one of the many matcha varieties they have. Our favorite is the Blue Matcha with coconut drink.
Selva Life Coffee & Brunch

Selva Life Coffee & Brunch is a personal project driven by Ecuadorian Michelle Barragán with a very clear objective: To promote health through healthy eating and healthy cooking. It is the only mentioned venue that is suitable for celiacs and allergy sufferers, as they have a special space for gluten bread, ensuring there is no cross-contamination. They also have vegetarian and vegan options. The goal? For everyone to be able to sit at the table and enjoy quality, organic foods. If you have a sweet tooth, we recommend the selva bowl with açaí, mango, banana, cow's yogurt, chia, seeds, pollen, strawberries, coconut chips, cereals, and honey. And if you prefer salty, you cannot miss the sea bass ceviche. Which is spectacular!
A great plan both before and after brunch is a nice walk to burn off the calories consumed during the meal. Make the most of your time in the city to discover Girona in a different way.
