The gastronomy of the Costa Brava is famous worldwide. Restaurants, sea, fresh products and of proximity, colors, smells, flavors … The Costa Brava has become a paradise for gourmets. Today we offer you a tandem between sea and gastronomy and we propose a tour of 10 of the best restaurants in front of the sea on the Costa Brava sea to awaken all senses. Bon appetit and enjoy the views!

1. Cala Jóncols (Roses)

The spectacular terrace of Cala Jóncols provides calm and contemplation, along with the local gastronomy, with products directly from the orchard, the sea or the corral. From here you can discover some beautiful coves – Cala Lledó, Cala Murtra, Cala Montjoi, Cala Pelosa – and quite isolated (following a rocky path), enjoying a panoramic view from Punta Falconera to Cap Norfeu and continuing until Cap de Creus. A fabulous day!

 2. Villa Teresita (St. Martí d’Empúries)

Perhaps better known as the Hostal Empúries restaurant, this place is simply magical. The views, the calm, the sofa and the two armchairs with sailor stripes that look at the sea, the incendiary colors of the sunsets. The food accompanies this atmosphere and you can enjoy products of proximity, some harvested from the orchard of the same hostel. If afterwards you want to have a drink, you just have to go down to the chiringuito, next to the beach.

3. Els Pescadors (Llançà)

Opened in 1947 as a tavern, Els Pescadors de Llançà is an emblematic gastronomic establishment that has evolved into a gastronomic creation restaurant. Throughout these 50 years, there are two things that have not changed: the personal and friendly treatment of the owners and a top quality products marine cuisine. The terrace facing the marina will make you enjoy an intimate atmosphere any summer afternoon.

4. Sa Tuna (Begur)

Wood, blue tablecloths, simplicity, discretion and good food. At Sa Tuna there is a lot of tranquility, beautiful views, sand touching your feet and traditional cuisine, with touches of author cuisine. You can not leave without trying the chef’s rice, a 100%  local from Empordà. The ideal plan? Afternoon stroll through the beautiful old town of Begur, a quick swim on the beach and dinner.

 5. Tragamar (Calella de Palafrugell)

At the end of the beautiful beach of the Canadell you will find this little vintage jewel, with pictures of fishermen on the walls, wooden lamps and sea sand right next to the terrace. From 1st June they open every day, noon and night, and they wait for you with a good fusion menu of tapas and with fish and paellas to lick your fingers. On the first Saturday of July you can take advantage to go, since afterwards, from the terrace, you will hear the sounds of the 50th cantata of habaneras!

 6. Vintage (Palamós)

In the Plaza de la Catifa, next to the port, you will find the Vintage (former Terrace of the Sea), decorated with great taste and a chic tone, but without losing the authenticity. Definitely, opt for a dinner on the terrace! For boat lovers, the views will brighten your eyes, just as the menu will delight your palate.

 7. FarNomo (Llafranc)

Sushi enthusiasts, ask for a table already! A complete menu, tempting desserts and a place to feel very lucky – the Lighthouse of San Sebastià and the breathtaking views of the Mediterranean from Llafranc. You can also choose to go inside, where the simple, yet modern, and exquisite decoration will make your day, or night, complete!

8. El Dorado Mar (St. Feliu de Guíxols)

Paellas, fish, Mediterranean cuisine and a touch of novelty. From the small terrace or from the large dining room with large windows, you will have the beautiful view of the entire Sant Feliu beach, the yacht club and you can glimpse the silhouettes of S’Agaró and Platja d’Aro. A traditional restaurant, in a privileged place.

9. El Marítim (Tossa de Mar)

At first sea line, you will be most well accompanied by a paella or fresh fish, caught by the same father of the cook, they say. A real treat for the senses! From the terrace of El Marítim, you can admire the lighthouse, along with the sinuous descent towards the old town.

10. Casa Nun (Cadaqués)

The mysterious alleyways and the promenade take us to the Casa Nun, in the Plaza des Portitxó, a small and charming restaurant, specializing in rice dishes, where you’d better book in advance. Next door, you can contemplate the Casa Blava or the Casa de Don Octavio Serinyana, in a modernist style, and in front, on the small terrace, simply enjoy the sea.
