Visit the monastery of Poblet

The Poblet monastery is one of the architectural treasures of the Conca de Barberà and the Cistercian route. It was founded in 1151 and is an exponent of Cistercian architecture. The monastery consists of a large church, cloister and adjacent buildings. It has been the burial place of Catalan kings. Its Romanesque-Gothic architecture and stained glass windows reflect a great artistic legacy. Its extensive grounds include forests and vineyards, with a wine-producing winery. The monastery has been declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. Currently, a community of more than thirty monks lives there.
