The first documents that refer to the villages of this municipality are located at the beginning of the Middle Ages . It is known that Talavera belonged to the Alemany de Cervelló in the 12th century, later to the Aguiló and then to the Burguès and Santcliment. Later, it passed into the hands of the Cerveras, King James II, the Alamanda de Queralt and the Aimeric.

In the western sector is Talavera , head of the municipality, and the town of Suró , with only 2 inhabitants. To the south-east of the term, is the depopulated village of Montfred and the village of Civit . In the northern sector, on the other hand, there are Pavia and Pallerols and Bellmunt , in the far north-east.

The town of Talavera rises to 791m on the slope of a mountain crowned by an old castle. A few meters from the old closed town is the parish church of Sant Salvador de Talavera , which retains a Romanesque door from the 12th century, although it was renovated in a neoclassical style. Inside the village, at the highest point, the remains of the castle are confused with the construction of a house. The town retains some covered streets, typical of the constructions of those times, and Carrer del Call , where the Jews lived. Towards the west, you can see the remains of an old watchtower, called Molí de vent , which was built as a defense element of the territory during the 11th century.

Pallerols

In Pallerols, you can visit an old dovecote from the 11th century . which is located on the outskirts of the town, on the left bank of the river where there are also some springs. Also, the church of Sant Jaume, included in the Inventory of the Architectural Heritage of Catalunya.

Pavia

In Pavia, you will find the remains of the old castle and the church of Santa Creu , built directly on the rock and which preserves the Romanesque apse, after having undergone different modifications.

Bellmunt

The actress of Bellmunt is located in its historic core, where you will find the church of Sant Pere , from the 18th century and renovated in the 20th century, and the walls of the stately house or castle of Bellmunt , which has belonged to it since the 14th century in the monastery of Montserrat.

Civit

The parish church of Santa Maria de Civit preserves some Romanesque and Gothic features. In 1685, the village was called Santa Maria del Coll del los de Civit and had 9 houses together and two farmhouses.

Spectacular and a beautiful setting

We stayed here with our family this weekend, and the house far exceeded our expectations. The decor, the convenience of every bedroom having its own bathroom, and the lush green landscape surrounded by mountains make it very peaceful. The village of Rajadell, ten minutes away, is lovely. The beds were very comfortable, and everything was very clean. The owners were also very kind: we left a suitcase behind, and they sent it to us by courier straight away. We’ll be back!

Quiet and very well equipped house

Ideal to disconnect from everything. The house is surrounded by nature and you forget about civilization; there are also small corners inside where you can take refuge if you want to spend some time alone. The pool is absolute relaxation and there are even hammocks inside the room. The kitchen is very well equipped, with utensils and dishes for everything. All rooms are comfortable and have their private bathroom, the one on the top floor is beautiful (watch your head if you're tall!). In addition, the owners have been very kind, which is greatly appreciated.

We have greatly enjoyed our stay in this rural house. The owners are very friendly, approachable and available if anything is needed. The house is beautiful, very clean, cared for down to the last detail and with everything necessary. And the pool, small but a real luxury! Without a doubt, a highly recommended place where we would love to return.

Excellent stay at the wonderful Cal Pauet

We repeat in this charming farmhouse. Very comfortable, quiet, with all kinds of well-thought-out details. Rest rooms, leisure, bedrooms, barbecue area, swimming pool. Everything was perfect as on the previous occasion. We will definitely repeat. Cristina offered herself for anything, but it was not necessary because everything was excellent.

Celebration of the 50th anniversary with friends

We have been super comfortable in the house, Mr. Josep is the best host, from the first moment we contacted to go to the house, super attentive, the house is spectacular, everything impeccable, clean, not missing a detail. The surroundings of the house invite relaxation with the paths for walking and the proximity to the village. If you go with children it is great, the football field, the table football, ping pong, and the space there is to play. We will definitely return!.
