The history of Sant Andreu de la Barca goes back to the Iberian era. Remains of settlements have been found in the chapel of Santa Madrona. There are also signs of Roman presence. Throughout the municipality you will find buildings of great cultural value. One of the best known is the parish church. It was built in 1501 and after the Spanish Civil War it was reformed. You should also visit the hermitage of Santa Madrona or old farmhouses such as Can Preses or Can Archs. If you walk along Carrer Joan Bosch you will see modernist houses.
Fairs are very important in Sant Andreu de la Barca. One of the most important is the Wine Fair. During this event, many products related to the wine and gastronomic sector are promoted. Another well-known fair is the Christmas fair. It is a children's fair in which sports and cultural organizations participate and games and workshops designed for children under twelve are organized.
From the center of Sant Andreu de la Barca there are many hiking routes that allow you to discover unique natural areas. Many of them cross lush forests and pass through fields where you will see old farmhouses.
