Puigverd de Lleida is a municipality that receives the waters of the Canal d'Urgell, the Canal Auxiliar and the torrent of La Femosa , so 80% of the territory is used for irrigated agriculture, while the land of almond and olive trees grow there.

Its origin goes back to the 12th century, when Pere de Puigverd received a Saracen tower in gratitude for his collaboration in the reconquest of the lands of Lleida. Puigverd de Lleida passed in the 13th century into the hands of Guillem de Cervera and later, into those of the House of Espens . It is documented that from the 17th century until the end of the old regime, the territory belonged to the Carthusian monastery of Escaladei.

Arriving at Mirador de la Serra is a good way to enjoy the landscape of Puigverd de Lleida, cataloged by the Landscape Observatory. In this area there was a medieval quarry , from which the stones were extracted to build the village church. The quarry lasted from the Middle Ages until the 19th - 20th centuries.
