Els Alamús holiday cottages

Els Alamús is a town and municipality in the Segrià region, in the province of Lleida . It is located just 12 km from the capital. Its relief is flat and is crossed by the water of the Auxiliary and Secondary Canal of Urgell and that of some irrigation canals. It is a municipality focused on the primary sector, with approximately 1073 hectares dedicated to herbs , 387 to fruit trees and 4 to olive trees.

You can visit the church of Sant Martí , patron saint of the Alamús, which was renovated during the 18th century. If you walk through the village, notice that on the thresholds of some doors there is still the coat of arms of some of the oldest houses in the village. We recommend that you walk along Carrer de la Costereta and above all, that you don't leave Alamús without exploring the Tossal de la Moradilla , a hill that houses bunkers from the Civil War and the remains of one of the 24 towers that were part of the line Barcelona-Lleida optical telegraphy military. The Tower was visually connected to two others; one in Bell-lloc and the other, in the Suda de Lleida castle. The current tower dates from the s. XIX, but it is believed that an Islamic watchtower had already existed in the same place.

You can visit Els Alamús throughout the year, but we remind you that Els Alamús celebrates its Festa Major for Sant Martí, during the month of November. Also, like many other towns on the plain, in May, it celebrates the Festa Major Petit and pays tribute to Sant Sebastià during a festival that takes place in January.
