Poboleda was one of the last strongholds of the Saracen invasion in Catalunya and one of the first places where the friars of Escaladei settled before the Cartuixa was built. If you walk through its historic center, you will be able to see stately manor houses that date back to the 18th century. One of the most well-known is the Casa dels Frares, which is currently the seat of the town hall.

The world of wine has great relevance in Poboleda. Every year the Festa del Vi i la Verema a l'Antiga is held, an event that promotes wine culture in the Priorat and offers tastings of local wines.

Visit the Priorat cathedral

One of the most important buildings in Poboleda is the church of Sant Pere. Its construction dates back to the 18th century and its style is neoclassical. The building consists of three naves and has large dimensions, which makes it known as the cathedral of the Priory.

Do the Wine Routes

Wine tourism is one of the main economic activities in Poboleda. Although in the past wine production was centered in the Poboleda Agricultural Cooperative , today there are more than twelve wineries spread throughout the municipality. One of the best known is that of Mas Doix. It was founded in 1998 and covers an area of 11 hectares.

The Camins del Vi allow you to discover what the entire wine-making process is like, from the harvesting of the grapes to their fermentation and subsequent bottling. In addition, you will have the opportunity to taste some of the wines produced in their facilities.
