Montblanc had its maximum growth and splendor in the medieval period. In 1947 the entire municipality was declared a Monumental and Artistic Site. Its walled enclosure, carrer dels jueu or Pont Vell are must-sees. In addition, you will also be able to see a set of churches of different styles and of great architectural value.
The cultural offer of Montblant is very extensive. Some of the museums that you should visit are the Conca de Barberà Regional Museum, which is in a medieval building, the Frederic Marés Art Museum or the Museum of Molins de la Vila.
Cave paintings and remains of Paleolithic human settlements have been found in the municipality. In the Iberian sites of Pla de Santa Barbarà you will see the remains of a primitive Iberian village, as well as samples of tools from the time.
The walled enclosure stands out from the center of the town. It dates from the 14th century and the towers and portals are still preserved. The Old Bridge has a Roman origin, but it has a 12th century physiognomy. Some of the most important are that of Santa Magdalena or Santa Maria la Major.
Montblanc Medieval Week is one of the best-known festivals in the entire Conca de Barberà. The origin of this celebration is based on the legend of Sant Jordi and the dragon . Throughout the week the streets of Montblanc are filled with small stalls offering local handicraft products. Numerous activities and medieval tournaments are also organized
