What does Maspujols and its Holiday cottages offer you?

The first written reference to Maspujols was found in a document dating from 1172. Historically, it was under the influence of the municipality of Aleixar until 1625, when it achieved its administrative independence.

In the center of town, some religious buildings such as the Maria Assumpta church are still preserved in good condition. Its construction dates from the 17th century and has a Renaissance style. Outside the town is the hermitage of Sant Antoni, an 18th century building in the middle of nature.

Maspujols is a municipality that has a markedly rural landscape. If you walk through its fields you can see centuries-old olive trees and old farmhouses that still retain their appearance. If you want to enjoy good views, you can take advantage and go on an excursion to the Rocabruna hill, one of the highest points in the municipality. If you approach the Sierra de la Mussara you will find marked routes for walking or cycling.

The cultivation of olive trees and the manufacture of oil is one of the main economic activities in Maspujols. If you visit one of the cooperatives in the municipality you can see what the whole process of making one of the best oils in the region looks like. In addition, in the cooperative's facilities there is an agrishop where you can buy oil and other native products of the area.
