El Cogul already had a human presence in prehistory, as evidenced by the cave paintings found in its territory. During part of its history it was under the control of the monastery of Poblet. During the French War it was occupied by Napoleonic troops. Take the Set river route

The natural surroundings of Cogul invite you to make excursions on foot and by bicycle. There are numerous paths and trails that cross the village and enter the agricultural fields, which allows you to enjoy a rural landscape of great beauty. One of the most well-known itineraries is the Set river route. Its extension is 36 kilometers and allows you to see the source of the river Set until it leaves the Garrigues region.

Rock art is very present in Cogul. In the cave of the Moors there is a set of paintings that have been declared a World Heritage Site by Unesco. They are a clear example of Levantine rock art and you can see different scenes.
