In the past this municipality was called Dosaigües. One of its main economic activities is the cultivation of hazelnuts. During the year 1810 it suffered looting by the Napoleonic troops. Also during the Spanish Civil War it suffered the bombings of Franco's aviation, due to the fact that the town had two bridges of great military relevance.

The municipality of Duesigües is surrounded by paths that cross the hazelnut cultivation fields. You can take advantage and go for walks while enjoying a completely rural landscape. If you like fishing, the Riudecanyes swamp is very close by.

Duesaigües is a small town that still maintains some of its historical buildings in a good state of conservation. If you walk through its center you can see the church of Santa Maria, a building with a distinct Renaissance style. Outside the town you will find two large bridges that were built in 1893. Their function is to save the ravines of Enseula and the Masos.
