Cornellà de Llobregat has Roman origins. In fact, its name comes from the term Cornealinus. The first written references to the city come from the year 980. From the 13th century it was part of the territory of Barcelona or did not become independent until 1716.

Cornellà de Llobregat stands out for having an important historical heritage. One of the best-known buildings is its castle, which was originally built as a defense tower. In 2000 it was rehabilitated and is currently the seat of the municipal archive. Throughout the territory there are farmhouses that carried out a strong agricultural activity. The best known are Can Manso, Can Serra, Can Valhonrat or Can Maragall. Another well-known building is the Palau de Can Mercader which is home to the city's museum.

Cornellà de Llobregat has numerous green areas. In the Can Corts park you can walk and rest under the shade of its pine trees. Another park that you must visit is the Infanta Park, where you will find numerous recreational areas for the rogue. You can also see the Camprubí house, a building built in 1927 by the architect Josep Mª Jujol.
