The first written documents that refer to the municipality are from the Middle Ages. Its location next to a natural aquifer has allowed the development of agriculture as well as the construction of flour, oil and paper mills that have fallen into disuse over time. Visit the Sanctuary of Collbàs

Carme has an important set of historic buildings, some of which have been declared cultural assets of local interest. One of the best known is the Sanctuary of Collbàs. It is a hermitage that is located on a hill in the Serra de Collbàs. It has been documented since 1205 and throughout its history it has undergone several reforms such as the one in 1960 in which the bell tower was replaced. The building has a single nave with a rectangular floor plan.
