Remains of settlements have been found around the town which show that there has been human activity since the Paleolithic. The first written documents where the term is mentioned are from the 13th century. You cannot leave the town without tasting one of its star products, namely hazelnuts.

Stroll through the historic center of Brunyola

Around the center of Brunyola you will find buildings of great interest. One of the best known is the castle. It is a Gothic style fortress that was built in the 14th century. Currently, it is the headquarters of the City Council and has rooms that are used for cultural purposes. Very close by is the parish church of Sant Fructuós, an 11th century building that was the castle's chapel.

Take a hiking route

From the center of the town there are different paths that reach the neighboring towns and that allow you to see a landscape of great beauty. One of the best known is the Onyar path that goes from Brunyola to Riudellots de la Selva.

It is celebrated at the beginning of October in the surroundings of the castle. At the event you can taste and buy local hazelnuts as well as attend cultural activities such as dances, concerts or workshops.
