What can I do in Berga and its holiday cottages?
In the upper valley of the Llobregat, at the gates of the Pre-Pyrenees, we find the town of Berga, the capital of
Berguedà, internationally known for the
Patum festival. A city full of history and cultural attractions that, at the same time, allows us to discover and tour the mountains of the central Catalan Pyrenees, such as the Serra de Queralt.
Berga and its history
The urban center of Berga was born in the 12th century, when the walls of which we still find remains today were built and which, at that time, closed a perimeter that remained practically unchanged until the end of the 19th century. The appearance of the old part of the city, however, has been shaped based on the numerous military conflicts in which it has been immersed: from the War of the Reapers, which destroyed a large part of the town, to in the Carline Wars. The city did not begin to recover until industrialization began.
