What can you do in Bellmunt del Priorat and its Holiday cottages?

Remains of Iberians and Romans have been found in different parts of Bellmunt del Priorat. From the year 1218 it was under the domain of the Escaladei Charterhouse until in 1553 it became part of Falset.

In the center of town you can see buildings of great value such as the parish church of Santa Llúcia. It was built in the 18th century and has a neoclassical style. You must also visit the Casal, a modernist building that has become a meeting point for the town's inhabitants.

Visit the Mines Museum

Mining activity has had great relevance in the economy of Bellmunt del Priorat. Between the 19th and 20th centuries, lead mining was very important. However, little by little its facilities fell into decay until it was closed in 1970. In the Mines Museum you can enter one of the galleries of the Santa Eugènia mine as well as find out what the whole mineral extraction process was like.

Bellmunt del Priorat is surrounded by forests and fields of vineyards and olive trees. From the center of the town there are numerous paths that will allow you to get to know the surroundings. Some of these routes pass by the Siurana River, and that's why you can enjoy a unique river landscape.
