I offer different types of tasting and private workshops at the house where you stay. From wine tasting with pairing to workshops to make your own gin and tonic. Each experience is designed to delve into a specific product, understand the differences and learn to enjoy it like a true connoisseur.
Types of tastings and workshops:

Cheese tasting paired with wines
In this workshop, we will taste 6 different cheeses (cottage cheese, soft cheese, bloomy rind, washed rind, pressed cheese, blue cheese) and from different milks (goat, sheep, cow). All the cheeses are from small producers, artisans, and originate from cheese affineur, so that the cheese is at the right ripening point. (Obviously, the cheeses will be cut at the time, not pre-cut on trays to avoid oxidation).
The wines, 6 different types, from different Denominations of Origin (white, rosé, red, cava, sweet), each one thought out to pair with the cheese maturity.

Ham tasting paired with wines
A tasting where we will learn to distinguish the types of ham that we can find in the market: 100% Iberian acorn, Iberian acorn, Iberian field bait, Iberian bait; how we find them identified at the time of purchase: white bridle, green bridle, red bridle and black bridle.
And also hams from different Denominations of Origin (D.O. Guijuelo, D.O. Dehesa de Extremadura, D.O. Jamón de Huelva and D.O. Jamón Los Pedroches).
We taste 5 Iberian hams and each ham will be paired with a different drink proposal.

Chocolate tasting paired with wines
One of the products that arouses the most passions is chocolate. We will take a tour through history of chocolate and its different varieties (white, dark, and milk), playing with different percentages of cocoa and combined with ingredients that enhance its characteristics on the palate.
One tastes 6 chocolates from different origins and different % of cocoa, paired with 6 different wines.

Foie tasting paired with wines
In this workshop we will talk about the history of foie, in a brief introductory way, and focus on the different types of foie that we can find in the market: Foiegras Entier, bloc, micuit, parfait, pate, mousse, etc. Composition, animal origin, aromas, textures...we will examine their pairing, gastronomic options, different preparations and presentations, when consuming it at the table.
We will talk about the different types of liver to make foie: goose, duck and others. And its pairings and gastronomic options, tasting it with different wines.
In each session, 5 different products are tasted with 5 different wines.

Wine tasting
The introduction session to wine tasting starts with a brief introduction where we will talk about which tools we have when tasting a wine, and how these influence the taste:
Explanation of the tasting. We will talk about sight, how the eye works, visual analysis, color, and what information it can give us.
The smell, the direct nasal route and the retronasal route. We will explain the primary, secondary and tertiary aromas present in wines.
The taste. We will explain the morphology of the tongue, determining in which part of the tongue we perceive each taste or feeling: sweet, salty, acid, bitter, umami.
Functioning of the glass. Consequences when tasting a wine. Tasting methodology.
And once the theory is finished we move to the practical part of wine tasting, where two white wines, two red wines and a cava are tasted: but we can tailor the tasting to your taste: if you want only white wines, or only red wines, sweet wines, sparkling wines, etc, etc, etc.

Beer tasting
At the tasting of Catalan/ or international craft beers, we will explain how beer is brewed, and of the three major types that exist: Ale, Lager and Lambic, and their different styles around the world. Subsequently, a beer tasting is held, which can be Catalan craft beers, or another option with international beers.
In each session, you taste 6 different beers.

Gin and tonic workshop
The workshop begins with a brief introduction to the production of gin, (process, ingredients, classification, etc.). Subsequently, a demonstration of the steps to follow when preparing a gin and tonic is carried out, and the participant goes on to make the first gin and tonic following the steps we have taught them.
To do so, each student at their table, will have all the necessary materials: ice, fruits, glasses, tongs, gins, tonics ....
Each participant will prepare four different gin and tonics. We use different tonics and four different Premium gins, each representing one of the different families of gins found on the market: Citrus gins, spiced, floral and botanical.
