The first documents that refer to the villages of this municipality are located at the beginning of the Middle Ages . It is known that Talavera belonged to the Alemany de Cervelló in the 12th century, later to the Aguiló and then to the Burguès and Santcliment. Later, it passed into the hands of the Cerveras, King James II, the Alamanda de Queralt and the Aimeric.
In the western sector is Talavera , head of the municipality, and the town of Suró , with only 2 inhabitants. To the south-east of the term, is the depopulated village of Montfred and the village of Civit . In the northern sector, on the other hand, there are Pavia and Pallerols and Bellmunt , in the far north-east.

The town of Talavera rises to 791m on the slope of a mountain crowned by an old castle. A few meters from the old closed town is the parish church of Sant Salvador de Talavera , which retains a Romanesque door from the 12th century, although it was renovated in a neoclassical style. Inside the village, at the highest point, the remains of the castle are confused with the construction of a house. The town retains some covered streets, typical of the constructions of those times, and Carrer del Call , where the Jews lived. Towards the west, you can see the remains of an old watchtower, called Molí de vent , which was built as a defense element of the territory during the 11th century.
Pallerols
In Pallerols, you can visit an old dovecote from the 11th century . which is located on the outskirts of the town, on the left bank of the river where there are also some springs. Also, the church of Sant Jaume, included in the Inventory of the Architectural Heritage of Catalunya.
Pavia

Civit
The parish church of Santa Maria de Civit preserves some Romanesque and Gothic features. In 1685, the village was called Santa Maria del Coll del los de Civit and had 9 houses together and two farmhouses.
