What can you do in Súria and its Holiday cottages?

The first written documents of Súria are from the end of the 10th century. In 1912, potassium salt mines were discovered, which has allowed the town to become a mining town. On the other hand, agricultural activity has had great relevance. You can visit the Cal Planés oil mill, a 16th century mill that retains its elements and utensils.

Stroll through the Old Town

The historic center of Súria is known as the Old Town. Walking through its cobbled streets you can see the ramparts and soaring houses. One of the best-known buildings in Poble Vell is the castle, a construction documented in 993. The Homage tower from the 12th century and its outer walls from the 14th century stand out. Inside is the Poble Vell Interpretation Center, a space where you can get to know medieval Súria in depth.

Live its historical traditions

Popular festivals are organized throughout the year in Súria. Since the 16th century , the Caramelles have been organized every Easter Sunday, an event that fills the town with singers and a large audience. The Medieval Crafts Fair is worth seeing. During this festival the town recalls its medieval past and minstrels, porters and artisans take center stage. You will also see ancient trades related to salt and which remind you of the importance that Súria had on the Cardona Salt Route.
