It is not until the year 1043 when there is the first reference to Savallà del Comtat. During its history it has passed through several hands such as the lords of Cervera or the Timors. Walking around the town you will be able to see some of the most important historical buildings.
Its proximity to the espai natural de les obagues del riu Corbwill allow you to see the native flora and fauna of the area as well as to do various outdoor activities.
This natural space is easily accessible and has a characteristic landscape thatcombines forests with rainfed fields. Within the space you will find numerous hiking routes that you can do on foot or by bike. In addition, you can visit buildings such as the castle or the hermitage of Savella. If you like to observe birds, within the natural area you can see some examples of golden eagle, shoed eagle, blue blackbird among others.
One of the most prominent buildings in Savallà del Comtat is the Boixadors castle. The original building dates from the 11th century, but it disappeared during the Carline Wars. Currently, there are remains of the reconstruction that took place in the 15th century. Another important building is the church of Sant Pere. Its style is baroque and it was built at the end of the 18th century.
