The beginnings of Sant Vicenç de Torelló go back to 1509. At the beginning of the 19th century, thanks to industrialization, it had considerable development. However, it still retains much of its historic buildings such as its parish church. It is a Romanesque gem dating from the 11th century and in the 20th century it was equipped with points of light.

Textiles have been deeply rooted in Sant Vicenç de Torelló. One of the most prominent elements of the town's heritage is the colony of Borgonyà. This textile colony was founded in 1894 by the company J&P Coats. This made it also known as the colony of the English. The factory worked thanks to the hydraulic energy produced by the river Ter and used to move the cattle. The workers lived in the workers' colony and had different services such as schools, church, theater, sports area, etc.
