In its beginnings, Sant Pol de Mar was the maritime district of Sant Cebrià de Vallalta. It was not until 1599 that it became independent. During the War of Succession it was burned by the Bourbon troops. Its beaches and quiet streets make it a place with great tourist appeal. Throughout the town, you will see buildings of various architectural styles such as Modernisme or Noucentisme.

The streets of Sant Pol de Mar are full of history. One of the most well-known buildings in the town is the church of Sant Jaume. Its style is late Gothic and dates from the 16th century. As a curiosity you should know that its bell tower is the old structure of a defense tower. The hermitage of Sant Pau was a Benedictine monastery and can be seen from the sea front.

The gastronomic offer of Sant Pol de Mar is very wide. All over its territory there are restaurants with traditional Catalan cuisine and signature dishes.
