Sant Martí de Tous was conquered by Guifré el Pilós in 880. During a good part of its history it has been under the rule of various religious orders. It is worth visiting the reservoir, a natural space that has become one of the main places of leisure in the town. The Fou is also very interesting, a waterfall of the Tous stream that generates streams of great beauty.

Discover its medieval past

Sant Martí de Tous grew up around his castle. Walking around its streets you can see a set of very interesting medieval buildings and monuments. Its castle stands out, a construction that maintains the quadrangular tower and has Gothic details. Very close by is the parish church of Sant Martí, a 19th century building that houses the tomb of Bernat de Tous and an altarpiece from the Rose. On the outskirts of the town is the Romanesque church of Santa Maria de la Roqueta which dates from the 12th century.

Enjoy the strip dance

One of the most well-known acts of the main festival of Sant Martí de Tous is the strip dance. It is an act that was lost for many years and was recovered in 1956. This dance is held in the church square and stands out for being very colorful due to the fact that the dancers form a network with their bands.
