In the past, Premià de Mar was the maritime district of Premià de Dalt. The beaches of Premià de Mar welcome many visitors every year. The best known are Llevant beach and Bellamar beach. Strolling through the town center is the Gran Via, a street where most of the city's shops are grouped.
